Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about e-invoicing readiness

When does e-invoicing become mandatory in Nigeria?

E-invoicing becomes mandatory for all VAT-registered businesses from January 1, 2026. Large taxpayers (₦5 billion+ annual turnover) must comply by November 1, 2025.

What do I need to start e-invoicing?

You need: (1) A valid TIN and VAT registration, (2) E-invoicing software (System Integrator), (3) Connection to a certified Access Point Provider (APP), and (4) Your NRS Business ID from the e-invoice portal.

How long does it take to get set up?

With ZUTAX, you can be up and running in as little as 1-2 days. This includes account setup, configuration, and sending your first test invoices.

What happens if I'm not ready by the deadline?

Non-compliance can result in a ₦200,000 penalty plus 100% of tax due plus interest. Non-compliant invoices will also be rejected for VAT input claims.
